D.P. Dough is happy to welcome our newest store, D.P. Dough Bowling Green (go Falcons!). As always, we commemorated our grand opening with our now famous “Free Calzone Day,” giving away over 1,000 free meals in our first 3 hours of business!
We we’re grateful to have such a great reception with our customers, but we were equally pleased to have received so much press coverage regarding our opening; in fact, the Toledo morning news even live broadcast from our store on the morning of the grand opening.
The Sentinel-Tribune featured us in a story, as well:
“D.P. Dough is offering an alternative to the wide variety of pizza places in Bowling Green with its signature calzones.
The family-owned business has been open at 1616 E. Wooster St. for about a month and sales are far exceeding expectations, the owners said.“
The BG News shared a similar story on their site:
“Calzones, loaded tater tots, and wings are not the only good things coming from the recently opened D.P. Dough, a calzone franchise in Bowling Green.
The past few weeks have been kind to Mark Crumpton, owner of the new store. With numbers 25 percent above the projected figures, business is going well, and the future of the store is looking even better.
D.P. Dough gave away free calzones during its grand opening, in return for customers posting, tweeting, and tagging D.P. Dough on various social media outlets in order to spread the word. Crumpton recognizes that his grand opening strategy helped to give the new business some much needed publicity. This marketing strategy propelled the company forward, with business tripling after the giveaway.“
